An Observational Study on Barbers’ Practices and Associated Health Hazard in Fiji

BACKGROUND: The barbers’ work is associated to many infectious diseases which lead major cause of morbidity and mortality in human’s population globally. This study aimed determine practices health hazards with their profession Fiji. 
 MATERIALS & METHODS: A cross sectional quantitative was conducted collect data from 50 observational sessions among barbers Suva, Fiji 2020. sample 25 were randomly selected participate this study. checklist used record data. Out the barbershops observed none them carried out any form sterilization.
 RESULTS: Only 4 (16%) did some disinfection home bleach savalon while 84% not have decontamination place. results further illustrate that 22 (88%) potent 3 (12%) unknown. Similarly, had inappropriate methods questionable. None supply hot water only 15 (60%) sufficient privy hand washing facilities. Furthermore, 6 (24%) PPEs compared 19 (76%) non-compliance.
 CONCLUSION: finding calls for immediate attention authorities enforce relevant laws create awareness training improve standards barbering profession.
